I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on my blog. It’s because my wife and I have been busy – planning a move to Burlington, VT! We’ve decided to chuck in the steamy summers, crowded subways and polluted air for the greener pastures and cooler weather of Vermont. We’re moving next week!

(Fear not, my clients in the NYC area who have booked me for weddings in 2009 – I’ll be back to the area frequently and will not charge any extra for my travel. I can’t wait to shoot your weddings this year!)

Beginning this June, I’ll be based out of Burlington and available to shoot all over Vermont and New England. If you have an upcoming event, please get in touch!

Bridge and Matt were my first couple of 2009 and it was a great start to what will surely be a wonderful, busy year ahead. They were married at the amazing de Seversky Center which is part of the New York Institute of Technology. It’s a great old mansion that has so many grand rooms it’s easy to get lost in it.

It was a freezing cold day, but Bridge and Matt were real troopers and braved the cold for a few minutes to get a few outdoor shots.

Everyone at the wedding had a great time and it was a great way to start 2009!

This may very well be one of the coldest Novembers we’ve had in NYC for the past few years. I was hoping it would warm up to the mid-40s by last Sunday, when I was scheduled to shoot Melissa and Andy’s engagement photos, but alas, the mercury didn’t rise much above 34! Melissa and Andy were great sports though – they powered through the biting winds off of the East River and I think we got some great images of them in Brooklyn. They were a really fun couple to shoot and I gave them almost no direction at all – they were total naturals. The photos speak for themselves.

This past Sunday was a wonderful fall day in Central Park, where I had the opportunity to shoot Bree & Brady’s engagement photos. We couldn’t have asked for better weather or light. They were such a fun couple to work with. I love fall!

I had the opportunity this past weekend to shoot two couples’ engagement photos and lucky for me, they were both a blast.

Sasha and Ryan met while they were both at NYU so we did a bunch of shots around the university and Washington Square Park. And since Ryan proposed in Bryant Park, we moved uptown a bit for some shots there.

Alaina and German live in Brooklyn (German grew up there) so they wanted a real Brooklyn feel to their engagement photos. We spent the afternoon around the water at DUMBO and then walked across the Brooklyn Bridge a bit. Despite the throngs of people out enjoying the beautiful weather, we managed to get some great shots on the bridge.

Couldn’t ask for a better weekend, though I’m looking forward to more fall-like weather.

Earlier this month I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Courtney and Mischa at the Apple Barn Farm up near Hudson, NY. It happened to be one of the hottest days of the year, and it was all outdoors with the reception in a rustic, but very neat, barn – so no AC! Everyone took the heat in good stride, the bride and groom looked so happy, and good times were had by all. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day.

Did a quick engagement shoot with Becca and Keith today in DUMBO. I love the views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the neighborhood’s quiet cobblestone streets. Becca and Keith were awesome to work with and were good sports about being out in the cold.
